Social Responsibility

We believe it is important that our products are made under fair working conditions. Everyone working in the garment industry has the right to a safe working environment and to earn a living wage. We strive to achieve this through our Living Wage projects and collaborations with organizations such as Amfori BSCI.

AMFORI BSCI

Environmental, Social and Governance performance

Since 2024, we have been affiliated with Amfori BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative), an international business association that promotes
open and sustainable trade and supports us in improving socially and environmentally responsible practices.

Our collaboration with Amfori BSCI enables us to monitor and ensure ethical standards among our suppliers. This includes fair wages, safe working conditions, and the prohibition of child and forced labor.

Changing the garment industry requires practical steps.

Amfori BSCI supports us through:

  • A framework to monitor and manage the impact of our activities and those of our suppliers.
  • A code of conduct for us and our partners, based on international guidelines and labor standards.
  • Monitoring our partners’ compliance and providing audit reports to identify and address risks and issues.
  • Trainings for us and our business partners on responsible social and environmental practices.
  • Local grievance mechanisms so workers can voice concerns and find sustainable solutions through independent investigation and feedback.

Amfori BSCI uses an audit rating system, ranging from A to E, to assess how well a company or factory complies with the BSCI Code of Conduct.

The audit results provide a clear view of how well a supplier adheres to social and ethical standards and offer guidance for improving their practices. The table below outlines what each rating means.

"90% of our factories are continuously and thoroughly audited."

Each year, we conduct independent audits in our factories to evaluate our efforts and create a report. You can read these reports below:

Living Wage

A living wage guarantees a decent standard of living, covering basic needs such as food, water, housing, and healthcare. A living wage is higher than the legal minimum wage for factory workers. This difference is what creates the so-called “wage gap.” Despite the challenges in the garment industry, such as political systems and cultural differences, we are committed to narrowing this gap.

For Fair Fashion

In 2022, we launched our first living wage research project in Turkey: For Fair Fashion. Focused on due diligence, wages, and gender equality in the clothing sector. This project, carried out with the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), Fair Wear Foundation, and three different brands — King Louie, Schijvens, and Kuyichi — analyzed living wages and workplace violence in the clothing supply chain.

We value transparency: our conclusion from this research is that it is nearly impossible to influence wages when our orders make up only a small share of a factory’s total production. This highlights the crucial importance of collaboration between all stakeholders.

Nevertheless, we gained valuable insights from the project and made a positive impact at the participating factory by providing a special voucher for workers to use on living expenses.

We continue to look for opportunities to positively impact the living wages of our workers.
