Circularity

At King Louie, circularity revolves around:

1. Extending the lifespan of materials
2. Minimizing waste
3. Closing the fashion loop

It's not a trend, but the future of the clothing industry. It's our responsibility to give clothing new value, season after season.

Circular collections

Our circular steps

Since 2023, we have been releasing garments made entirely or largely from recycled materials. To achieve this, we work with innovative partners who spin fibers from collected clothing back into yarn. This allows us to offer clothing that is not only stylish, but also has a second life.

CIRCULOSE® in our SS26 collection

An important step forward is our SS26 collection, in which we are working with CIRCULOSE® for the first time: a groundbreaking, circular base material made from 100% discarded textile streams with a high cotton content, such as old clothing and production residues. Circulose® is processed into a high-quality cellulose pulp that serves as an alternative to wood pulp in the production of fibers such as viscose, lyocell, and modal.

In this collection, we use this innovative material in ten different designs. These garments have been carefully tested for comfort, fit, and appearance—and are fully in line with our ambition to make fashion circular.

Eco-Design

Circularity starts with design. At King Louie, we actively participate in the Eco-Design training program—a process that supports our designers and product developers in embedding sustainability into the design phase.

During this training, we learn how to design our collections with a longer lifespan, lower environmental impact, and better recyclability. The insights help us to continue building a circular future for fashion.

Our ambitions within this process:

Researching materials and constructions that are better suited for reuse, so that we can create recyclable garments.

Designing high-quality pieces that transcend seasons — timeless designs that you can enjoy wearing for years to come.

Improve our processes and material choices to minimize environmental impact, from raw material to end product.

Learn from training and apply this knowledge through our own EcoDesign checklist with concrete plans to further integrate sustainable design into our working methods.

Explore new circular business models that allow us to create value within a circular economy, including reuse, repair, and resale.

Repair & upcycling

We are actively committed to returning clothing to the cycle. As part of our participation in the Circle Club, we have collaborated with innovative upcycling designers who help us to examine waste streams and reuse valuable materials.
